Clearance Information

PTSA has a zero tolerance policy regarding the security clearance requirements for our volunteers: Complete all clearances or YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO COACH, assist or otherwise volunteer. BOTH PARTS (A and B) MUST BE SATISFIED!

PA WEST CLEARANCE = Ekidsafe =

PART A

  1. Log onto the PTSA Registration Website here: PTSA Registration

  2. Register parents (click I am interested in coaching) and register kids (players)
  3. Follow link for child abuse clearance (ekidsafe); eKidsafe PA West (if this link does not work, use https://secure.sportsaffinity.com/reg/Public/registration/login.aspx?domain=pa-bgc.sportsaffinity.com&sessionguid=
  4. Enter information as requested - payment due is $10.00
  5. Once you have been successfully screened, PA West will unlock your status and allow a team to be assigned to that coach.

PART B
      1. PATCH = Criminal Records Check
        1. Click on this link PATCH system link. Complete the information and pay $10 via credit card to the PA State Police.
        2. Almost instantly you will receive your clearance status. Click on the R number provided, print off the clearance
        3. Or mail to Shannon Barry a paper copy at: 1035 Elizabeth Drive McMurray, PA 15317
        4. PTSA Risk Management must physically have this copy in had to deliver to Michelle Harmel at Peters Township Parks and Recreation.
      2. PA DPW = Child Abuse History
        1. Print out and complete the FORM for the Child Abuse History Clearance.
        2. Send in a printed copy of your PATCH from step 1 above
        3. Get a certified check or money order for $10.00. NO OTHER FORMS OF PAYMENT ARE ACCEPTED!!!!
        4. Send the FORM, PATCH and the MONEY ORDER OR CERTIFIED CHECK to the address on the FORM
        5. Once processed you will receive in the mail a paper clearance
        6. KEEP A COPY FOR YOUR RECORDS
        7. SEND Shannon Barry the paper copy
        8. WANRNING
          1. STEP B CAN TAKE UP TO 4 WEEKS. IMMEDIATELY COMPLETE STEP 2 AFTER STEP 1 TO AVOID DELINQUENCY. PARKS AND REC GIVES VOLUNTEERS A 30 DAY GRACE PERIOD TO SUBMIT STEP 2 AFTER STEP 1. YOU WILL BE ASKED TO CEASE AND DESIST ALL VOLUNTEERISM WITH PTSA IF YOU FAIL TO PROVIDE STEP 2 WITHIN 30 DAYS OF COMPLETING STEP 1. CERTIFIED MAIL WILL BE SENT TO YOUR HOME ADDRESS ORDERING THE SAME. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE TO THIS POLICY AS IT IS IN THE BEST INTEREST OF OUR CHILDREN TO HAVE ONLY VOLUNTEERS THAT HAVE BEEN CLEARED TO THE STANDARDS OF THE REGULATORY BODIES THAT GOVERN THE PETERS TOWNSHIP SOCCER ASSOCIATION.


PTSA has encouraged Peters Township Parks and Recreation to consider a single step process for part B like eKidsafe. They are currently reviewing this process to help associations like PTSA expedite this clearance process. We encourage that parents contact Michelle Harmel to voice their desire to move to such a single step process. PTSA FIRMLY BELIEVES that this measure will more adequately protect our children from potential abuse by more efficiently processing our volunteer base.
